Blogging in the new decade: our goals for 2010
Earn Give Save is a veritable blogging baby right now at just two months old. We’ve been having a blast sharing our story and our thoughts on earning money, saving it, spending it, and giving a bunch away. That’s really the goal for this blog: to provide awesome, unique free content that will challenge and bless the way you think about money. Here are a few milestones from our first 68 days:
- 31 posts
- 24 subscribers to our RSS feed
- 410 unique visitors
- 41 excellent followers on Twitter
- 10 fans on our Facebook page
We’re off to a great start, but we want to keep this thing rolling! Here are a few goals we have for 2010:
- Add more subscribers! If you’re an RSS guru, add us to your favorite feed reader. You can even receive email updates every time we post if that’s your thing. While you’re at it, why not share one of these links with a friend or forward one of our email updates along?
- Answer your questions and feature guest posts from time to time. Have a money question? We don’t necessarily have a perfect answer, but we’ll give it a shot! Maybe you have a great idea or story you’d like to share. We’d love to feature your thoughts in a guest post! Drop us a line at earngivesave [at] gmail [dot] com and let us know. Or, click on the link in our sidebar.
- Make a little cash money. Don’t get us wrong, it’s really fun to put the site together, but it does involve quite a bit of time each week. More funds mean more opportunities for us to provide new content and even giveaways someday. Revenue to the site comes in to the site from:
- Google ads appearing beneath the header and below posts
- Every time someone clicks on a Google ad
- Purchases made through links to Amazon, like those on our bookshelf
- When somebody signs up for a great savings account with SmartyPig or decides to use Elegant Themes to make their blog look nice and pretty!
- Get our Twitter account cooking. We haven’t done a ton of following back, and we’re going to work more on that this year. If you’ve got good things to say about personal finance or anything else, you’re going to be on our list!
- Add a few topics to our arsenal. This blog is definitely about money, but our life is so much more than that. We’ve got more to share, and if you like it, we’ll keep it coming!
Thanks for being a part of our fun over these last few months. Every comment you make, every mention or post on Twitter or Facebook, and every email means the world to us. We’re ready for a great year; thanks for coming along for the ride!
